CHARACTER INTERPRETATION
» Appearance:
Belle is from a wealthy family, her father being a sir. She is seen in quality cloths and well made dresses. Her name also means beautiful in French. She is fair with dark hair. Belle is short and has curves. She has a fierceness to her though, a stubbornness and a bravery to match it.
» Suitability: n/a
» Orientation: Straight. We only see her in love with Rumpel, and she's devoted to him despite being rejected and treated poorly.
» Personality
Belle is headstrong. She comes from a time where women aren't allowed to make their own destiny, but when opportunity comes knocking, she takes it. Belle defies her fiance and father when Rumpelstiltskin arrives to aid her father. He says he'll only help if she comes to serve him. This is her chance to show the bravery that only men do in stories like this. She chose to save her town.
Later she tells Rumpel that only she makes her destiny, and it is something that she truly believes in. She wanted to be the hero, and so she was. She could have left Rumpel, but she learned that he could be so much more with the curse broken. She decides to take matters into her own hands, being both stubborn and resourceful. He didn't have to be the beast he made himself out to be, and so with true love's kiss, she tried to bring him back.
Rumpel is perhaps the person that shaped her life the most. He took her, and she fell for her captor. It was because of him she was able to live her life the way she wanted to. She also saw him for what and who he was, despite all that he is capable of. When she leaves him, she knows she can do whatever she likes, seeing the world top on her list.
Belle is a proponent of love. Even despite what eventually befalls her with Rumpel, she is kind and never waiving. Dreamy, the dwarf, doesn't understand love, and she's the one who explains it to him, and that the girl of Dreamy's dreams wants to be with him. She thinks it is all worth it, even if Rumpel is too scared to admit it.
In that way, Belle is the bravery that he is not. Previous to this, we learned that when Rumpel was human, before he became the Dark One, he was a coward. He ran from the ogre wars. Belle had done the exact opposite. She wanted to be brave, and she took her opportunity. With a gentle heart, she fell for the man they all called a beast, and she called him out on his cowardice. He didn't believe that she could love him. He told her he valued his magic over her, but she would never believe that.
Even when Hook kidnaps her and threatens to kill her unless she lets him use her to kill him, Belle refuses. For all that happened, she will not sway from his loyalty to him. She is steadfast. From first turning away from her father and fiance's wishes to being certain of the choices she makes, it's more than a little tough to dissuade her. Not even certain death will.
Belle also becomes more worldly. She wanted to see the world, she told Rumpel once. And after he lets her go, she decides to do just that. It turns out she's a pretty good tracker as well (as the ordeal with Mulan and Prince Phillip show). It doesn't take her long find what she wants, a lot of that dependent on her willingness to learn, to read, to look outside of the box. When everyone tells her the monster is in the lake, she knows it isn't. She also reads which is a big deal. She wants to know and see and experience.
Ultimately, she's her own hero. Even after her heart is broken, she does move on from it. She has her own strength. No one can tell her what to do or change her beliefs. People can lie to themselves, but not her. She knows what she's capable of, and she'll go to any lengths to see it done. She'll stand by what she believes. In the end, it's all up to her, and she can do it.
She's a hero. Through and through.

At least one sample MUST demonstrate your character's feelings about or reactions to sex!

[She's still getting used to this piece of technology. It's strange and foreign, but she knows enough about magic to know it's not like any she's known. Tucking a lock of brown hair back, she's resolved in her mission.]
I know what the goddess asks of us here, and while I know enough of servitude, I can't say I'm exactly used to this. [To go from serving Rumpel to her freedom and then back to being chained, only literally this time. The collar around her neck only reminds her of this.]
But I know it must be done. That is not what I seek. I want to know more about this island. The waters, the city, beyond the city. Perhaps if one would wish to take some time and explore it with me. I've little coin, but I know how to fend for myself. [If she is to be stuck upon this island, than so be it. But she will do it in her own way.]
Perhaps the library could be of use? If any could point me there, I'd be appreciative. [First hand accounts would be better, but Belle isn't picky.]
» Third Person Sample Choice: Two
The dream was basic. She was in Rumpelstiltskin's castle as she had spent many a night there. But in the way she dreamed of it, this time was different. There was no soft gazes or dusting. She did not sing with the clock or dance with the broom. No, this was more intimate. There was a mouth upon her breast, and as she grasped the soft linens underneath her, Belle recognized the room she was in. The gasp was not just from the shock of who she was with, but the pleasure he was giving her as he pressed himself into her.
It was hazy, but she could feel every elation as he began to move inside of her. She could taste him on her lips when he dipped to plant soft kisses. This was not just all she wanted. Her heart sang, and her body buzzed. She felt that happiness only the magic of true love could create, and it made this experience all the better. He knew her intimately now. He knew her body as well as knowing her heart.
She breathed him in as that feeling in her stomach coiled. She moaned his name softly in her accent that spoke of other lands. When she was just about to be complete, her body jolted awake. She knew from experience this was her bed in her new home. The dream now common. Breathing deeply, she sat up and touched her collar. It was tight, but not painful. Close, she told herself.
But there was another feeling, the one between her legs. It reminded her just as much as her collar of what needed to be done. Her new servitude. She did not like being told what to do, and this action was not one of bravery. But there was little she could do in protest. Too much could be lost. Her memories of home mattered, especially since she'd been told of the Evil Queen's curse.
She could not let that befall her nor any of those she cared about on the island. That is why she did what she did. It was her own bravery, and it was something she could feel comfortable with, even when everything else told her not to.
Tomorrow, she told herself. Tomorrow she would call upon a friend to do what must be done.
